Dollars and Degrees: Challenges for Northern Ontario's Post-Secondary Institutions

Regional experts in Northern Ontario were interviewed in the Spring of 2022 to understand the challenges and opportunities in five areas: food security, immigration-migration, physician recruitment, post-secondary education, and homelessness, mental health and addiction. Regarding post-secondary institutions, experts suggested concentrating on increasing funding, funding Indigenous institutions not as programs but as institutions themselves as well as increasing their funding, and making communities more welcoming to international students.
