Community Immigration Pilot Making Economic 'Cents': How the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is Growing the Local Economy in Thunder Bay

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) was brought to the City of Thunder Bay to better distribute the benefits of immigration, attracting new immigrants with the skills needed by that community and most likely to stay in the long term. However, what are the economic impacts of this program in practice? This policy note concludes that the RNIP program had positive impacts on wages and jobs in the City of Thunder Bay in its first year of activity.
