The government of Ontario recently announced a basic income guarantee pilot project in the communities of Thunder Bay, Lindsay, and Hamilton.
Northern Policy Institute's recent conference October 5-6 in Sudbury, ON saw experts from around the country present their own current research on basic income guarantee. Topics included food security issues, potential models for a B.I.G. pilot, tax implications and the potential impacts a basic income could have on First Nations and social innovators.
Discussion comments from the conference have been compiled and summarized to share and inform further policy discussions. NPI thanks you for your participation.
